Terms of Service

This is starter text, written in plain language to accurately describe what the app actually does. It has not yet been reviewed by a licensed attorney.

By creating an account or using Recovery Academy, you agree to these terms.

What Recovery Academy is

Recovery Academy is a self-paced, digital eating-disorder-recovery resource — guided video lessons, worksheets, and journaling exercises — built by Stephanie Waitt, LPC-S, for Texoma Specialty Counseling.

Where this service is available

Recovery Academy is currently intended for users in the United States and other English-speaking countries. The service is only offered in English at this time.

Not a substitute for treatment

Recovery Academy is an educational and self-reflection resource. It is not therapy, not a replacement for professional medical or mental health treatment, and not a crisis service. If you are in crisis or in danger, please contact emergency services or use the crisis resources linked inside the app immediately, not this app.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Let us know if you believe your account has been compromised.

Membership and billing

Some lessons are free; the rest require an active membership, currently $4.99 per month, billed on a recurring monthly basis with no free trial. You can cancel anytime through your account's billing management page; your access continues through the end of the period you've already paid for rather than ending immediately. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

Content ownership

The lessons, videos, worksheets, and other content inside Recovery Academy belong to Stephanie Waitt / Texoma Specialty Counseling. Your own journal entries and reflections belong to you.

Acceptable use

Use Recovery Academy for your own personal recovery journey. Don't attempt to copy, redistribute, or resell the course content, and don't attempt to interfere with or gain unauthorized access to the app or other users' accounts.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms. You may stop using Recovery Academy and cancel your membership at any time.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
